Reclaim of excise duty in Hungary
The Hungarian authorities make a reimbursement available for the excise duty charged on diesel fuel that was refuelled in Hungary. This reimbursement is exclusively intended for the transport of goods via the road.

Starting on 01-01-2019 the rebate on Hungarian excise on diesel has been changed to 3.5 HUF per liter. When the price of a barrel of unprocessed oil reaches 50 USD the rebate will be raised with 10 HUF to 13,5 HUF per liter.

- Application form for Hungarian excise permit
- Power of attorney for permit application
- Bank account statement
- Copy of the Transport license
- Copy of the contract with the diesel fuel supplier, translated into Hungarian (excluding DE/UK)
- Deed of incorporation, translated into Hungarian
- Extract from the trade register, translated into Hungarian
- Copy of the registration documents. If the cars are registered with a different name, we also need a rental or lease contract. This contract should meet certain specific requirements among which its translation into Hungarian. We will guide you through this if necessary
- Power of attorney, with which you authorise us to reclaim the excise duties on your behalf
Other information
- Submission per month, quarter or year
- For trucks where the ‘maximum permissible mass’ is at least 7,500 kg
- Reclaim is possible up to 1 years retroactively
